the build

an attempt was made

Originally, I was going to attempt to build my entire costume from scratch. This was ambitious to begin with, given my pitiful lack of sewing skills, but the task was only made more difficult by prolonged illness. Eventually, I changed courses, with the mindset of just doing what I could. In the end, I managed to prototype both a mask and a halberd, built mostly out of EVA foam. I made patterns for my creations using reference pictures, pre-existing digital patterns, and a lot of trial and error. Bringing parts of my costume to life was a super fun experience, and I wish I had been able to complete more in the timeframe. I will aim to complete this project anyway, and I have learned that, sometimes, you must find ways to work around obstacles, rather than wait for them to stop being an issue.
